This sculpture is a visual and conceptual reflection on contemporary identity.
Three symbolic figures—"Responsibility," "Liberty," and "Identity"—intertwine in a fragile yet profound balance,
navigating guidance, imposition, and aspiration.
"Responsibility," sculpted from white veined marble, has a mature face, marked by time.
She cradles a newborn in her arms: new life entrusted to experience. Her foot treads on some golden
tiles of the central figure, symbolizing the weight of the past spilling into the future.
She is strong but not divine; human, imperfect, real.
"Liberty" is an androgynous, otherworldly entity, completely bald, with a body etched with esoteric signs
and symbols, resembling a lost script. Its eyes are closed, listening for something deeper. It holds a book
open upwards, like an inner light, a knowledge that doesn't impose but inspires.
"Identity," at the center, is a body fragmented into golden tiles. It kneels, engrossed in the attempt to
reassemble itself. Its reflective material merges with the surface of the smoked mirror on which the
entire scene rests. The reflection is broken, distorted, much like our often-fragmented perception of ourselves.
What one sees is part of the true, part of the desired, part of the judged.
The mirroring base is not merely a support; it's an integral part of the artwork, inviting the viewer to reflect
within this incomplete process, to question where their own identity ends and where their masks begin.
The entire work stages the eternal conflict between what we would like to be (Liberty) and what we feel
obligated to be (Responsibility), while our Identity is built, lost, and recomposed.
It is a symbolic ascension—imperfect, arduous, and beautiful—where every fragment brings us closer
to—or further from—our essence.
Etched into Liberty's skull, in an alien (invented) language, a spiritual koan-like phrase awaits deciphering:
"no form, no time – no light, no shadow – no roots, no ties – no beginning, no end –
I, ALL"
A metaphysical declaration.
A possibility for everyone.
An invitation to self-reflection.

This sculpture is a visual and conceptual reflection on contemporary identity.
Three symbolic figures – “Responsibility”, “Liberty” and “Identity” – intertwine in a
fragile and profound balance, between guidance, imposition and aspiration.
“Responsibility”, sculpted in white veined marble, has a mature, time-worn face.
She holds a newborn in her arms: new life entrusted to experience. Her
foot treads on some golden tesserae of the central figure, a symbol of the weight of the
past pouring into the future. She is strong but not divine, human, imperfect, real.
“Liberty” is an androgynous and otherworldly entity, completely bald, with her body
etched with esoteric signs and symbols, similar to a lost script. Her eyes are
closed, listening for something deeper. She holds a book open upwards,
as if it were an inner light, a knowledge that does not impose but inspires.
“Identity”, in the centre, is a body fragmented into golden tesserae. She is on her knees,
absorbed in the attempt to recompose herself. Its reflective material merges with the
surface of the smoked mirror on which the whole scene rests. The reflection is broken,
distorted, like the perception we often have of ourselves. What is seen is
part of the true, part of the desired, part of the judged.
The mirrored base is not just support: it is part of the work, inviting the
viewer to reflect within that incomplete process, to ask themselves where their
own identity ends and where their masks begin.

and what we feel obliged to be (Responsibility), while our Identity is
built, lost and recomposed.
