The work is inspired by the "manilla", the currency used during the slave trade, to reflect on modern oppressions. The manilla is no longer in circulation today, but humanity has not freed itself from other forms of slavery: the rope that wraps around the figures is like a noose that binds them to a condition (concrete or mental) of submission to the "choices" imposed by society.
However, the rope has no knots: humanity autonomously binds itself to the apathy of its comfort zone, without performing acts of freedom. Only the child is free from any ties, as he is not yet subject to external influences.
