Made of gilded bronze with the engraving “Fine Gold 999.9” on the lower part, the life-size crucifix is a provocative reinterpretation of contemporary values, in which religiosity is transported into the context of modern commodification.
The work represents the dialogue between the sacredness of the Christian symbol and its “commercial” use, offering a reflection on the commodification of spiritual ideals in today’s society.
The animated digital version is designed to complete a 24-hour cycle, in which day and night are contrasted in a visual and conceptual dualism.
