States of Time-Consciousness

A monumental exploration between geometry and becoming.

What happens when the rigidity of space meets the fluidity of experience? States of Consciousness of Time is Gianluca Migliorino's new monumental series, a 9-act work that investigates the conflicting relationship between the individual and the universal stopwatch.

The Concept: The Fall and the Anchorage
The series revolves around a primordial material contrast:
The White Cube: A symbol of stability, Euclidean order, and the immutable structure of physical reality.
The Molten Metal: Representation of consciousness and subjective time. Gold, chrome, copper, and lead melt over the geometric surface, sometimes gently settling, sometimes struggling against gravity. The Structure of the Work
The work is conceived as an experiential journey. Eight cubes rest solidly on the ground, each bearing witness to a different psychological state: from the Morphology of a Memory to the Gravity of Being. They are "still frames" of a struggle between form and formlessness. The climax of the series is represented by the Manifesto Piece: a monumental structure where the cube abandons its horizontal stasis to rise on a single vertex. Here, the metal is no longer a guest sliding over the surface, but becomes the vital force that sustains an impossible balance.
