Musical Artist

Michael Maciaszczyk

Michael Maciaszczyk is a Polish violinist and conductor who has been active for years, primarily in Vienna, where he has developed much of his musical career. He is known for his "dual" artistic profile, combining his activity as a concert performer (particularly as first violin/Konzertmeister) with that of a conductor. Born in Opole, Poland, in 1976, he began studying the violin as a child and pursued an academic musical path in Poznań, Graz, and Krakow, earning a doctorate (Doctor of Art) from the Academy of Music in Krakow. His career then solidified in Central Europe, with Vienna serving as his "musical home" for approximately twenty years. As a conductor and violinist, he has performed in major international concert halls (including the Musikverein in Vienna and Carnegie Hall) and is also involved in education, holding a guest professorship at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing since 2015. Operabase lists him as a conductor with an extensive archive of productions and credits, especially in the symphonic-orchestral and related repertoire.
