Fountain Humanity

*UMANITÀ* is a work that questions urban space and collective consciousness through the absolute form of the sphere, offered here as an image of the "whole" and, simultaneously, as proof of its impossibility. The artist Gianluca Migliorino condenses into this work a profound reflection on the contemporary human condition: an evoked totality that coexists with a declared fracture.

The Concept: The Broken Sphere

The artwork does not seek to "mend" division with conciliatory rhetoric; on the contrary, it exposes it as a structural condition of the present and of our way of being in the world. The sculpture thrives on a material contrast that is both strident and harmonious at the same time:

The Upper Hemisphere (The Ideal):* A polished, perfect, and reflective gold cap that acts as a promise or an aspiration to an inaccessible purity. Its mirrored surface captures and reflects the image of the surrounding world – sky, architecture, passers-by – incorporating them into the theater of the ideal.
The Lower Hemisphere (Reality):* An oxidized bronze surface that retains an irregular, veined, and earthy memory. It recalls history, scars, the weight of reality, and the unexhibited complexity of the inner world. It is not a condemnation but proof of the resilience and transformative power of will.

The Liquid Threshold: The Sense of Limit

The core of *UMANITÀ* does not lie in the two halves, but in the space that separates them. From this horizontal fissure, highlighted by a luminous crown, not emptiness but water emerges.
The boundary thus becomes a *living threshold*: an incessant and fluid cascade that transforms the barrier into a place of energetic transit. Water represents the lifeblood that makes humanity a dynamic and not static entity, a river of light that speaks of migrations, hybrid identities, and the ability to inhabit boundaries with care and awareness.
